Australian Payroll Associate

Job Summary
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing the payroll process for all employees, ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws and employment regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll for Australian employees.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, superannuation requirements, and Fair Work regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll reports, including PAYG, superannuation, and other statutory requirements.
- Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee records, including leave balances, timesheets, and personal information.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries promptly.
- System Management: Utilise payroll software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) to manage payroll processes efficiently.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated and able to work efficiently and collaboratively with:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll role, preferably within Australia.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, ELMO, Rippling, CloudPayroll).
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing multiple clients is desired
